General Questions about Metro Detroit's Best Summer Dance Day Camp

Here are some of the most common questions that arise before joining our one-of-a-kind youth summer dance experience. Should you have any others concerns, feel free to contact us via phone. We can't wait to have you & your young artist in the making become an integral part of our family!

Where is the camp located?

The camp takes place predominately at our beautiful building (15565 Northland Dr., Ste. 200E, Southfield, MI 48075). We are conveniently located near numerous major freeways off Greenfield Rd. near 8 Mile Rd.

When does the camp take place?

The first day of our fun-filled summer is Monday, June 22, 2026. The journey continues as we end the summer camp on Friday, August 14, 2026 and begin preparation for our 2026-2027 Fall Season.

How long does the camp last?

Our strategically curated Summer Dance Day Camp curriculum is guaranteed to help your young artist improve significantly in just 8 weeks. For nearly the entire summer, your child will be immersed in a program that is not only helping them create wonderful memories but one where that inspires growth physically, mentally & emotionally.

What are the hours of operation of the camp?

The standard camp hours are Monday through Friday from 8a - 3p. However, we have a before care option that allows families to arrive as early as 7a and an after-care option that allows young artists to depart as late as 5:30p.

How much is it to take advantage of the before/after care program?

$300 for entire camp

$175 per month

(Month #1 = 6/22/26 - 7/16/26)

(Month #2 = 7/20/26 - 8/14/26)

What does the camp consist of?

The young artists train in 3 - 5 stellar dance classes a day. They also participate in daily character development activities, weekly academic enrichment, indoor & outdoor games, field trips and much more. From Ice Cream Socials & Themed Events to Nature Walks & age-specific tutoring, our camp ensures that your student has the most fulfilling and productive summer ever! Plus, our partnership with Detroit Parks & Recreation's own, Adams Butzel Complex allows them to learn & play a ton of sports as well as take advantage of all of the center’s amenities.

Is there a consistent camp schedule? What does a typical day of camp look like?

At SKilSet Movement Studios, we believe that the keys to tangible and visible growth are strategic structuring and consistency. When combined with positive mental attitude and strong work ethic, any dancer, regardless of age, background or anything else, will improve drastically and expeditiously at our studio.

The students are divided into two groups by age. They follow a schedule daily. Monday, Wednesdays & Fridays have similar classes and Tuesdays and Thursdays share the same training regimen.

What information should I be aware of surrounding field trips?

Field Trips are optional opportunities where all of the staff & campers embark on a fun and/or educational experience outside of the building. All trips incur additional fees that help us satisfy transportation and participation/entry fees. The exact dates, times and associated equipment/fees are communicated in the beginning of the camp in the BAND App's Summer Camp Calendar. Parent/Guardians are welcome to attend.

All campers must wear their #IAmSKilled Summer Dance Day Camp T-shirt on Field Trip Days. This helps people identify our children as participants of our camp and allows us to easily keep track of our students at all times. All families must sign a digital permission slip for every student.

Some of our previous excursions include Red Oaks Waterpark, The Belle Isle Conservatory & Aquarium, Zap Zone, Bavarian Blast/ Splash Village Indoor Waterparks, Urban Air Adventure Park & CJ Barrymore's Amusement Park to name a few.
