About the event
S.L.A.Y: Metro-Detroit's Eclectic Dance Showcase was created in 2010 by Brandyn "SKilz" Burton. Originally formated as a competition, this one of a kind event was formed to create scholarships funds for passionate youth who possess a strong desire to pursue a career in dance yet lack the funds to train efficiently. The funds were donated to local studios to supplement the costs often associated with quality youth training programs. We are ecstatic about the opportunity to continue presenting this incredible Benefit Showcase and eager to provide yet another opportunity for the Michigan Dance Community!!! Your participation means so much to us and we thank you in advance for your patronage and support of our endeavors to contribute to a better arts community in the state.

Friday, July 7, 2023 Â (SKilSet Movement Studios)
The 1st Annual S.L.A.Y Workshop Series (7p - 10p) (12+ recommended)
Master Classes from both local and nationally-recognized Choreographers.Â
The S.L.A.Yer's Meet Up (The Official Cast Party) (10p - 1a) (15+)
This will be an opportunity for the performers (and any other interested individuals) to network, socialize and dance the night away.Â

S.L.A.Yer's Dinner (4p - 6p)
Join us for a delicious dinner at grille39, The Hotel's Exclusive Restaurant. Often descibed as cool, classy, chic and simple, the chefs are known for designing unforgettable, palate pleasing dishes. From salads and burgers to steaks, burgers and more, they surely have something for everyone. Don't miss out on yet another opportunity to fellowship. (Guests may select their own meals as well as any fees associated with them.)
S.L.A.Y: Metro-Detroit's Eclectic Dance Showcase (7p - 9p)
The Benefit Showcase is certainly going to be one for the books!!! Our versatile young artists will present some of their multi-award winning choreogrpahy as well as new works created specifically for the occasion. Other amazing youth dance organizations will perform entertaining pieces to help us raise money for this worthy cause. With featured performers from all over the midwestern region of the country, we are sure this will be our BIGGEST & BEST SHOWCASE YET!!!!Â

S.L.A.Yed: The Official After Party (10:30p - 1:30a) (18+)
This adult only gathering will grant everyone with a final opportunity to commerate the momentous occasion by celebrating with each other.Â
Complete with good music, cyphers, food vendors, a cash bar and more, this party will culminate the weekend perfectly.

This non-refundable, non-redeemable and non-transferable fee permits one (1) vendor to sell and/or promote their goods and services at this event. This fee includes one (1) 6 ft. table and two (2) chair. Potential Vendors must contact S2MS before paying to confirm available spaces. Additionally, spots are confirmed ONLY after receiving both the vendor form and fee payment confirmation.

This non-refundable, non-redeemable and non-transferable ticket permits one (1) individual to experience the showcase on a whole other level complete with premium seating & delectable hor d'oeuvres. The VIP Patron will also have access to our Cast Party the night before the main event as well as SLAYed: The Official After Party (both at our beautiful, new location in Southfield, MI.).

This non-refundable, non-redeemable, non-transferable ticket grants one (1) individual with the opportunity to mix & mingle with fellow audience members & artists at our official after party. Complete with good music, cyphers, food vendors, a cash bar and more, this party will culminate the weekend perfectly. This experience will begin at 10:30p at SKilSet Movement Studios (29217 Southfield Rd., Southfield, MI 48076) following the show.
